The STCx808 series of stimulators (x is 1, 2, 4 or 8 channels) are constant current stimulators with maximum power of 800 mA/80 V (64 W) on each channel and independent output insulation.

The following settings and characteristics can be adjusted independently for each channel:

• Power output (at any time).
• Switch to set output power as a multiple of threshold power (minimum power necessary to obtain organ reaction).
• Stimulation mode: positive monopolar, negative monopolar, bipolar.

Other settings and characteristics common to all channels are:

• Duration of pulse (0 to 10 ms)
• Connectors to simultaneously connect the stimulator to amplifier output and oscilloscope input, in order to display the stimulation pulse and organ response on the oscilloscope. The delay setting for the oscilloscope can be adjusted. Channel selection through analog multiplexer.
• Stimulation impulse triggered by:
  • A STC4050 stimulator (also able to generate double impulses), or
  • iox software run on a PC, or
  • by any other stimulator.
